What do you think about my gay blog especially about English? I am Japanese gay guy who live in Toronto. I own the blog.
ashton999.blogspot.com/
I really wanna acquire many new readers for my blog.
Do native speakers usually feel tired about reading bad skilled English writing by non-native person such as me?
Do they feel "weird" about my english when they read my blog? |
| Your english needs some work, but it's better than most North Americans speak Japanese. I think the longer you are surrounded by english speakers, the more naturally it will come for you. |
What is the name of this gay blog that headlines gay rights updates and has these adorable cartoons? It's written by more than one person and each article has a little humorous cartoon above it. xxx |
| Are you talking about slapupsidethehead.com? There's cartoons above each blog entry, and it makes fun of bigots. Sort of sounds like what you're talking about. |
My friend wants to write a blog about being gay but doesn't know what to talk about. Can you give us ideas? Please don't send hate mail thats really guyish to do.
Anyways, he thought of doing something about gay pride parades but hes never been to one and doesn't know much about them. What should he write about? He and I work for the same company and he is writing a gay blog for the company and it is really important that he can write about something interesting and engaging about gay people and culture but something that would be interesting to people who aren't gay also.
Please help. Thanks. |
I agree with J G
Stuff like his day-to-day life would be interesting, most blogs consist of stuff like that, you could also suggest stuff about the company and how people ract towrads him - if he's out or not, stuff like coming out, relationships, you don't need to reveal stuff if it's too private though. Everyone has different experiences of culture though. Maybe stuff like how gays have been accepted or how people's attitudes change - you could focus that within your workplace too
I hope this helps and I may add more, you could nosy at other people's blogs for ideas though |
I started a blog about gay rights how do I get people interested? please be considerate. |
I would go completely Ape Shite. Over the Edge.
Run the blog like a fox news talk show played backward.
Act Up and be colorful and loud.
Lie you asse off if need be. |
What do the Gay community think of the Dirt from Dirt Blog? Agree or disagree? If the latter what have you done to help shut this obnoxious hate monger down? She has been posting images of FTMs exposing them to abuse. What happened to the golden rule of not "outing" people, or does that just apply to the Gay community? |
| What's that? A blog that nobody reads? Who cares? |
What to put in my Gay Blog? I want to start my own gay blog, what things should I have or talk about on my site?? Any ideas?? |
You should talk about things that interest you, that piss you off, things in your local community that you are knowledgeable about and have a firm opinion.
Write about things that you want to share with others and things that my help someone else in life. Your life experiences, the current topics of life that have affected you and in what ways.
There are many subjects that you can blog about. Just be sure that you choose subjects that you are educated about, have a strong conviction and opinion about.
Good Luck. Happy blogging. |
Good topics for a gay blog? I'm a gay guy who has started a blog about my life here:
murphyslaw-knoxpossibilities.blogspot.com/
It's hard coming up with new topics to write about all the time. What are some good topics that a gay audience would want to read about? |
1) Feminine gay men- are they appreciated in the gay community or derided? Do you think there is internalized homophobia/misogyny regarding feminine gay men?
2) Have GLBT folks become too passive? Is real, challenging activism dead?
3) LOGO, the channel- what's your perception of it? Is it empowering for the community to have their own channel, or is it a cop-out by not making a space for GLBT character portrayals and inclusion on cable TV?
4) Slash fiction written by women, f*g hags galore . . . analyze the revolution wherein women are fascinated by, infatuated with, and possibly even turned on by gay men. What might the reasons be, and is it a good thing or a bad thing?
5) More and more gay or bisexual-identifed FtM's are coming out and pairing up with gay or bisexual men. Discuss the significance of this for gay male identity. Is there a space for FtM's in the gay male community?
6) Gay porn director Chi Chi La Rue recently left a company when it decided to go condom-optional, following a line of the fetishization of barebacking in porn. Talk about that- is this dangerous? Should porn feature protection or not?
7) Reviews- review a gay film, gay musician, gay book, anything, really.
8) Put your spin on the latest news. Just to get you started: Senator Larry Craig, Jerry Lewis, etc., etc..
That's all I can come up with for now, but hopefully that's enough to get you started! |
Ex-gay advice on gay blog? I have lately administered this gay blog where gay people of all ages come and share their thoughts, stories etc. Lately however something interesting happened. A new user started to come on this blog, claiming that he used to be gay until he was 38 and now he considers himself straight (he says he is also homoaffective, but not homosexual, meaning he does not act on his feelings). He says he is in his sixties, married and has a guy. Well the problem is that he also gives all sort of advice I do not like, like gay men should stay in the closet, wait until they get older and are not that crazy about sex and then marry a woman, like he did. I see his advice however as a very subtle form of homophobia, which should not have a place on a blog where many teens come and could get even more confused and depressed. I also doubt that this person is real and not just working for some ex-gay organization, however there is no way to find out, so I have to treat him like a real person anyway. How should I deal with this situation? |
There's nothing subtle about that form of homophobia, he's blatantly saying you should suffer your entire life and pretend to be straight, that's just... wrong on so many levels.
Try talking to him, explain why you think his advice is inappropriate and that you guys are more than willing to help him try to accept himself. If that doesn't work, is it possible to ban him from the site or contact someone who can? If so I would say that would be the best route.
I hope you can get this worked out, could I get a link to this site? |
Coming out advice/gay blog? I found recently a gay blog from Romania (a very conservative country, where I was born). Since I moved out of that country, my views have evolved and I realize now the importance of coming out, of gay marriage etc., although when I was there I was more conservative myself. So I started to post comments on this blog, explaining people why coming out is good, and why gay marriage is a fair idea, hoping to somehow help and encourage people living there. Well, what happened is that quite a few people reading that blog got a little upset, saying that my advice is actually bad, that coming out is useless and even dangerous, and that gay marriage is not good at all; one of those people was so upset that he started attacking me, that guy thinks gays should be strictely closeted because sexual orientation is a personal matter. I realize of course that in a conservative country gay people are more conservative and maybe advice that is good in more liberal countries is not good there. I really thought that my ideas (coming from a more liberal place) could help them and move things forward, but I'm starting to have second thoughts now. What do you think? |
Of course Romania is going to be behind other countries when it comes to gay rights and all but honestly some of the best gay porn I've ever seen has come out of that country. It can't possibly be as far behind as you seem to think. Give them time and if you can take the abuse, stand firm and let yourself be a light in their darkness. Attacks and ridicule are tools that conservatives use to keep us in the closet, in the darkness. Let yourself be one candle for them, the people you irritate don't matter when compared to the one person here or there that you help.

Stories of unprotected gay sex on blog? I found this very popular gay blog where lately somebody posted a few stories of unprotected gay sex (sperm swallowing, anal etc.), in a very glorifying way, and he seems to be proud of those experiences. This person also added that those who didn't go through those kind of experiences are not truly gay. And not only that, he also said that gay men should not come out, in case they realize later that they actually like girls, and then no girl will accept them.
I find these posts iresponsible and dangerous and I plan to fight against them vigourously and in a credible way, do you think that common sense is on my side here? |
| common sense seems very rare even with people who have much higher learning... God help humanity. |
